Cala dei Balcani is designed as an exclusive venue and is best suited to celebrations of between 20 and 120 guests. This capacity allows us to maintain the intimate, personalised atmosphere that distinguishes our venue from larger, more impersonal locations. For smaller celebrations — elopements, intimate ceremonies, anniversary dinners — we can accommodate groups from as few as 10 guests with the same level of attention and care. Yes. Cala dei Balcani can host official civil wedding ceremonies with full legal recognition in Italy. We work in close collaboration with the Municipality of Santa Cesarea Terme to facilitate the necessary documentation and administrative procedures. For international couples, our team will guide you through the specific requirements for marriage in Italy — which vary depending on your country of residence and nationality. Marriages performed at Cala dei Balcani are fully legally valid and internationally recognised. We strongly recommend beginning the administrative process at least six to twelve months before your planned wedding date.

The Salentine coast enjoys one of Italy's most favourable microclimates, with warm, dry conditions from late April through to early November. Our preferred wedding season runs from May to October. July and August offer the classic Pugliese summer — hot, brilliant days and warm, still nights perfect for outdoor celebrations. June and September offer a slightly more temperate version of summer, with long evenings and reliable sunshine. May and October are increasingly popular with couples who appreciate the softer light, the lush spring vegetation, and the relative tranquillity of the shoulder season. We do not typically host outdoor weddings from November to April, though indoor celebrations and tastings can be arranged year-round.

Cala dei Balcani does not have accommodation on-site; however, Santa Cesarea Terme and the surrounding area offer an excellent range of options for every taste and budget. The area is home to several luxury masserie (traditional Pugliese farmhouses) converted into boutique hotels, as well as smaller B&Bs, apartments, and hotels directly on the seafront. We maintain relationships with a number of preferred accommodation providers in the area and will be happy to provide recommendations tailored to your guests' needs. We can also assist with coordinating transport between accommodation and the venue.

Absolutely. Our culinary team is highly experienced in creating menus that accommodate a full range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and any other specific allergies or religious dietary restrictions. When planning your wedding menu, please inform us of all dietary requirements among your guests and we will ensure that every person at your table is offered a menu of equal quality and creativity to the standard courses. We do not treat dietary alternatives as an afterthought — they are part of the overall culinary design.

The booking process begins with an initial consultation — either in person at the venue, by video call, or by telephone — during which we discuss your vision, preferred date, approximate number of guests, and any specific requirements. We will then provide a personalised proposal for your consideration. Once you decide to proceed, a reservation is confirmed with a booking deposit and the signing of our event agreement. From that point, your dedicated wedding coordinator will guide you through each subsequent stage of planning — including venue visits, menu tastings, and supplier coordination — until your wedding day arrives.

We do not publish a fixed price list, as we believe that a personalised approach — where each couple receives a proposal tailored to their specific needs — produces better outcomes than a menu of standard packages.
