The exclusive luxury wedding venue in Salento, Puglia. A 16th-century Saracen Tower rising above the Adriatic, panoramic views stretching from Capo di Leuca to the Albanian coast, and two decades of family passion dedicated to creating the celebration of a lifetime.
Welcome to Cala dei Balcani
Perched above a crystalline cove on the Adriatic coast of Salento, Cala dei Balcani is one of Italy's most coveted settings for luxury celebrations. The venue is anchored by the Torre Saracena di Monte Saracino — a perfectly preserved 16th-century watchtower built in the aftermath of the 1480 Otranto massacre — whose truncated-cone silhouette, rising ten metres above the ancient rock, gazes eastward across an infinite blue horizon.
On clear evenings, the panorama unfolds from Capo di Leuca, the southernmost tip of Italy, all the way to the mountains of Albania — a view that has stopped travellers in their tracks for five centuries. Founded in 2003 by Maria Cristina Urso, a daughter of Puglia with a lifelong devotion to her region's beauty and traditions, Cala dei Balcani has welcomed couples from every corner of the world to celebrate their love in one of the Mediterranean's most extraordinary places.
Civil ceremonies and elegant receptions crafted in every detail, tailored entirely to your dream and your story.
A historic watchtower of extraordinary beauty, illuminated in cobalt blue against the Adriatic night sky for your most special evening.
Authentic Pugliese cuisine crafted from local produce — octopus with caciocavallo podolico, Mediterranean prawns, hand-made friselle and much more.
From Capo di Leuca to the Albanian coast, a panorama without equal anywhere on the Italian peninsula.
The Urso Family
In 2003, Maria Cristina Urso — a native of Puglia with an unshakeable love for Salento — transformed a breathtaking stretch of Adriatic coastline into a sanctuary for love and celebration. Her vision was simple yet profound: a place where couples from around the world could experience the genuine warmth of southern Italian hospitality alongside the splendour of one of the Mediterranean's most beautiful settings.
Today, her son Francesco Urso serves as Director, carrying forward a family legacy built on passion, authenticity and an uncompromising dedication to excellence. Together, the Urso family ensures that every celebration at Cala dei Balcani is as unique, as personal, and as unforgettable as the couple themselves.
